The Casino has also won recognition for its ongoing support of minority and women-owned firms in vending and purchasing. In 2014, the Maryland-Washington Minority Companies Association (MWMCA) honored Live! Casino Maryland as the Most Creative and Inclusive Gaming Facility in Maryland. Over 400 of our managers are also minorities. The results speak for themselves: over 65% of our employees at the casino are minorities, with 35% Black or African-American employees, and over 16% Asian. In project operations, we crafted a strict Diversity and Inclusion Policy, and made inclusiveness in hiring a top priority for our team. In 2011, we were awarded the “Bridging the Gap” Award for Key Partnership/Strategic Alliance by the Great Baltimore Committee, in recognition of our partnerships with minority-owned businesses during the construction phase of Live! Casino Maryland. We also achieved over 35% participation by MBE/WBE’s in overall project construction. We made history with the construction of Live! Casino Maryland, becoming the first company to construct a major casino in the United States using a minority-owned firm as the general contractor.
